Matt's Masters
thesis, entitled: "Athens and
Jerusalem: The Rationality of Christian
Theism" (an exploration
of Alvin Plantinga's Reformed
epistemology), was awarded in
1998. He majored in philosophy for
both his masters and bachelor
degrees. After winning a BCNZ Scholarship Matthew began a
MTh at BCNZ in Auckland in 2000
but at the close of 2001 Otago
University accepted Matthew's
application to upgrade his work to
date on his MTh to a PhD in
theology and religious studies.
Matt is approximately one year
away from completing his PhD and
was awarded a full scholarship
from Otago University to this end.
In 1999 he became President and
Life Member, "for outstanding
service to students", of the
Waikato University Students Union
after having served on the union
previously as Education and
International Students rep. Matt
is married to Madeleine and has 4
children He enjoys spending time
with his family, and "pretty much
all outdoor activities", as well
as reading and friendly debating.
